Thanks I also have a question. I have a rusted screw that broke off in my cylinder/valve case just below the top cover (where it connects to the bottom). I am unable to grab the screw with any pliers. A friend of mine suggested heating it with a gun and then using a reverse drill bit to take it out.

I started riding and it leaks, not terribly, but it definitely needs to be fixed. Any suggestions? - You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups 'Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!'

Yeah so sorry about the delay, thanks for helping. I ended up getting it temporarily fixed with a friend. The picture I attached just shows the bolt effected. I had to drill it out with a titanium drill bit because my bolt extractor had broken off inside. I have put in a new bolt.

Problem solved (I hope) I also had to cut out a new gasket for the valve cover. Now that all seems to be fine.

I have one more question. The spark plug covers that lead to the 2 coils.which wires go on top and on bottom? The wires that lead from the coils to the battery etc. I have a yellow and white/black on one side (again I dont know which goes on the - and + sides of the coil) and a blue and white/black on the other side (above spark plugs 1 and 4). I am trying to find a picture that just shows me where the green wires go and the yellow wires go. Any ideas from the pros? I can't figure it out in my manual.

83 honda nighthawk 550 wiring diagram

I just got my nighthawk a month ago and the RPMs continue to rise as the bike heats up to the point where it idles at about 3,500. I think this could just need an adjustment to the idle screw but when I took it in to a shop im pretty sure these guys just wanted my money and were telling me to replace a bunch of stuff. Does anyone know a solution to this? and where on the nighthawk is the idle screw I just looked briefly but didn't see it. Mark Bob 12/4/2015, 6:20 น. Hello how are you?

I know this is an old post hoping someone can help. I recently got a 1983 nighthawk cb650sc and was in pretty bad shape when i got it.

Motor was frozen carbs were bad shaped and front end was a wiring mess with no fuse box headlight or gauges, along with bunch of other issues. Long story short ive done a lot to the bike hunted down original parts and unfroze the engine runs like a champ now but I need help with mounting the fuse box and horns. I need good pics to help me out manuals dont show too much.

I have the original bracket and fuse box ordered of eBay. Pics of how the cables are routed to back of the fuse box and how its mounts would be highly appreciated. When i do mount the bracket for the fuse box the the brake Iines coming out of the back of the horn prevent me from mounting the horn.
